Many people dream of visiting Europe, but few actually end up making the trip. There are a number of reasons for this, such as the expense or the inflexibility of work schedules. But some people never go simply because they don’t know where to begin.
Paris is one of the most fantastic places one can visit. It is a dream come true for any student of art, history, or fashion. But all too often, people visiting the City of Lights end up visiting the most well-known attractions, and therefore end up spending their vacation standing in lines. Instead of the Louvre, consider visiting the less frequented museums, such as the D’Orsay or the Picasso. And there are plenty of open-air sites that are beautiful and free, such as the Luxembourg Gardens or the Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
Paris is an expensive place, and a slightly less costly city is Barcelona. It is equally beautiful and romantic, but lodging, food, and drink all come at a much lower price. While there, visitors should make sure to go to the fantastic Sagrada Familia Cathedral. It is one of the most incredible buildings in the world.
It is also advisable to branch out from major urban centers. The countryside and smaller towns throughout the region are gorgeous and provide the opportunity to get a real taste of the local culture.
